Q: IF I STOP CUTTING MY HAIR IT WILL GROW FASTER

MYTH:
As you are growing your hair out, it is important to cut off your split ends, split ends that don't get trimmed can continue to travel up hair strands which may lead to longer split ends and more breakage. Therefore, it is important to cut off your split ends to grow long, healthy hair.

MYTH:
Products can make split ends look healthier temporarily, however they cannot repair them. The best way to deal with split ends is to trim them and the best way to avoid them is use products with optimal protein and moisture.

Q: I CAN GROW MY HAIR FASTER WITH HAIR SUPPLEMENTS

MYTH AND FACT:

Important supplements with Vitamin A, K, D and C can promote hair growth. However, if your body has the right amount of vitamins needed from your diet, vitamins won't make your hair grow any faster. Your body only absorbs enough vitamins needed, the rest will go down the toilet. Unfortunately, more vitamin intake does not mean more hair growth! More is not better in this case! If you are taking hair supplements and still find that you' re shedding hair or unable to grow your hair past a certain length, it is important to look at your overall health.

If your stress levels are high, hair supplements may not work. Your body will redirect all the vitamins and nutrients away from hair growth to your organs to function optimally. Our bodies will prioritize vitamin usage when the body is in a survival state and most of the time hair growth is not a priority.

We suggest regular #SELFCARE to keep those stress levels low

3 WAYS TO PREVENT SHEDDING OR BREAKAGE AND PROMOTE HEALTHY HAIR GROWTH

1. FOCUS ON YOUR SCALP
We often forget that our scalp is skin too and it requires TLC as well! A healthy scalp creates the perfect environment for hair growth, less shedding and less breakage. Especially being a curly girl, it is very easy to neglect our scalp.
Blood circulation and products with anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties will keep the scalp happy and healthy.
Our Purity Shampoo or Purity Co-Wash are made with Lavender, Rosehip and Chamomille- these plant based ingredients help keep the production of sebum under control to prevent an oily or dry scalp.
2. USE A WIDE TOOTH COMB TO DETANGLE WET HAIR
Our hair strands are fragile! A brush or comb with harsh bristles will cause breakage! Always use a wide tooth/ quality comb and ALWAYS detangle on wet hair to prevent frizz and breakage.

3. USE A SATIN HAIR SCRUNCHIE SO YOUR HAIR DOES NOT GET DAMAGED WHILE TIED UP

We have all been there- having a misplaced hair tie lost in our big hair, only to find it tangled in knots in our precious curls. At this point unfortunately, most of us are forced to rip our hair strands, causing more breakage. Satin is a very important material for naturally curly hair, it protects your hair, doesn't create knots or damage to your hair strands. They can be wrapped around hair once, or multiple times depending on thickness of hair
